Job description: The department of Chemical Engineering in collaboration with the department of Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Sciences at the American University of Sharjah are seeking to hire a postdoc research associate to work with Prof. Oussama El-Kadri on the development of porous materials (polymers, MOFs, COFs…etc) for hydrogen storage application. Ideal applicants should be self-motivated and independent researcher with strong background in the all aspects of porous materials chemistry, including synthesis, characterization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct all experimental work related to the project
  • Produce monthly reports and help in writing manuscripts
  • Provide occasional lab supervision to shadowing undergraduate students
  • Adhere to laboratory safety rules

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science.
  • Proven skills in chemical synthesis and preparation of polymers and/or porous material.
  • Strong skills in characterization techniques and operating instruments such as BET surface area measurements, SEM, TGA, etc.
