Job description: Principal Data Engineer, Tech Consultancy – Dubai, Full TimeNote: Candidates must be based in Dubai to be considered for this position, with a maximum notice period of one month.Our client, a leading Tech consultancy in Dubai, are seeking to hire a Principal Data Engineer to lead the development of advanced data engineering solutions.In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines while ensuring data accessibility, reliability, and quality. Proficiency in cloud platforms like Snowflake and/or Databricks, along with tools such as dbt, Airflow, and Fivetran, is critical. Strong expertise in SQL, Python, and data modeling is required, while experience with NoSQL databases is a valuable advantage.Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust data pipelines using Snowflake or Databricks, dbt, Airflow, and Fivetran to enable seamless data integration and transformation.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive data quality and validation frameworks using rule-based engines to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable, high-performance data engineering solutions.
• Employ dimensional modeling techniques to create optimized data structures, supporting advanced analytics and business intelligence.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering best practices in data engineering, architecture, and coding standards.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably with exposure to consulting or client-facing environments.

• Technical expertise in Snowflake and/or Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, SQL, and Python.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a strong plus.
• Professional certifications in technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, or Apache Airflow are highly desirable.
