GISAD was once again rated as one of the best schools (out of over 180) in Abu Dhabi by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge in 2018 and 2021.Job DescriptionOur institution is seeking a dedicated Islamic Studies teacher who has a passion for Islamic education and a sincere desire to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm in young people. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Islamic principles and an unwavering commitment to actively engaging our students in the exploration of Islamic teachings, history and values. Through your expertise and guidance, you will facilitate a journey of discovery and understanding and foster a deep appreciation for the rich heritage and wisdom of the Islamic tradition.Position profile:
- Modern and contemporary teaching in grades 1 to 10/12 in the subjects of Islamic Studies and Social Studies (and Arabic) in Arabic.
- Willingness to take on non-subject teaching after consultation.
- Active participation in teamwork, especially in the subject area of Arabic/Islamic Studies and in the subject area of foreign languages.
- Planning and organisation of extracurricular projects such as school trips, excursions, projects, working groups.
- Co-organisation and implementation of school events.
- Active participation in the dynamic further development of the school.
- Participation in regular further training and independent professional development of teaching quality.
QualificationsJob profile:
- Bachelor of Education and degree in Islamic Studies (and/or Arabic.
- Excellent English language skills and, preferably, good German language skills are desirable.
- If possible, teaching experience in the German system.
- Experience with competence-oriented, language-sensitive teaching and cooperative, open forms of learning.
- Friendly, reliable, resilient, honest, cooperative, and communicative personality.
- Sound sense of responsibility, professionalism in teaching and in dealing with the team and the school management.
- Close cooperation with the head of the Arabic department, the integration officer, and the school management.
- Willingness to embrace new pedagogical approaches and accept existing structures.
- Openness to supervision and further training for professional development.
- High empathy and a motivating demeanour when working with children, parents, and staff.
- Intercultural sensitivity and openness towards families with different backgrounds and languages.
