Job Type: Full TimePosition OverviewAs a Coastal Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and evaluation of marine and coastal structures, from revetments and breakwaters to navigational channels and man-made islands. Working as part of a high-performing team, you’ll collaborate with geotechnical specialists, surveyors, and hydrodynamic modelers to deliver end-to-end design solutions for landmark projects.What You’ll Do
- Design coastal protection systems including revetments, breakwaters, and groynes
- Engineer beach restoration, scour protection, and marine outfall structures
- Contribute to the planning of man-made islands, dredging, and reclamation works
- Prepare technical specifications and manage bathymetric survey requirements
- Conduct condition assessments of existing marine structures
- Review and guide sub-consultants in the use of hydrodynamic modeling tools such as MIKE21
- Ensure all marine and coastal designs meet regulatory standards and environmental codes
- Prepare comprehensive reports, drawings, specifications, and technical presentations
- Stay current with evolving marine engineering trends by participating in professional forums
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Marine, or Coastal Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in marine or coastal engineering
- Solid understanding of regional and international design standards
- Proficiency in preparing coastal design documentation (specifications, reports, CAD drawings)
- Experience coordinating marine surveys and geotechnical investigations
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC project regulations and coastal development norms is preferred
- Strong written and spoken English skills, with ability to produce client-facing documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse technical teams across disciplines
